Music has always been played at Kettle’s Yard. There are two pianos in the House at Kettle’s Yard and when it was a home to Jim and Helen Ede they used to hold small concerts. While Kettle’s Yard is closed for our major building project we are holding concerts in the Old Divinity School at St John’s College in Cambridge. We will return to Kettle’s Yard for our Spring term in 2018.
The opening concert on 12 October is the Cambridge debut of cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, BBC Young Musician of the Year 2016. The season also features a wealth of award-winning quartets and trios: among them the van Kuijk, Castalian, Ruisi and Piatti string quartets, and the Busch, Isimsiz and Linos piano trios. Rising stars include the Italian pianist, Alessandro Taverna and the guitarist Sean Shibe. Seasoned performers and old friends include two Wigmore Hall favourites, the pianists Andreas Haefliger and Christian Blackshaw. Another highlight is the first concert back in the House featuring the Heath Quartet and pianist Tom Poster.

While we are closed we will take a break from the New Music and Student music series while we work on these important strands of music at Kettle’s Yard ready for our re-opening.
Our ticket prices are kept low thanks to the endowment left by our founder Jim Ede for Kettle’s Yard Thursday Evening Chamber Music Series. However this only supports a small part of our programme and we need your help to continue to support emerging artists and composers, and continue to provide world class performances as part of the Music at Kettle’s Yard programme.

Justin Lee is the programmer for the chamber music series at Kettle’s Yard. If you have a concert proposal please send it to email@example.com and we will forward the proposal to him. Please note that we programme quite far ahead of time and we receive a large number of proposals so we are not always able to respond to submissions.
