1 February 2016
February sees the opening of our exhibition at the University Library, The Horizon is the Point of No Return: Works by Georgie Grace and from the Kettle’s Yard Collection. During the month we will also be launching A Handful of Objects, a new online resource exploring works in the Kettle’s Yard collection.
The building work is also progressing. A new Zebra crossing has been added to Northampton Street to allow pedestrians right-of-way now that the footpath has been closed to allow for a ‘drive-thru’ for the site. The scaffolding to the double height gallery has now been dismantled as the demolition to this area has been completed. The site compound on Northampton Green for the contractors to occupy during the build is nearly complete. The cabins will be installed during February. The site team are able to use the Kettle’s Yard offices for now but they will become unusable as the project progresses and this space is transformed into a café.
We will be regularly adding photos of the building works to our Flickr, you can see the latest images here.
