Circuit is a group of 18-25 year olds who experiment with different ways of experiencing and making art, working with Kettle’s Yard and Wysing Arts Centre. This summer, Circuit members have taken part in a creative training project called Circuit Conductors, where they’ve learned about behaviour management and youth arts, marketing, working in the youth sector and running workshops, and have run their own social event.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time with Circuit Conductors so far. Our training sessions have made me feel much more confident and prepared for leading workshops. It’s also been a lot of fun to develop and plan activities and workshops – I’m looking forward to seeing what projects we can get involved with next!” Sarah Dore, Circuit Conductor
“Circuit Conductors has been an amazing professional development course where I’ve learnt so much about how to plan and run a creative workshop, as well as finding out about possible career paths, such as being an Artist Facilitator. I feel so lucky to have this opportunity and to be trusted to run my own workshops and get paid for them! It’s also been so great to be part of a lovely group of like-minded people. I cannot sing Circuit’s praises enough!” Damaris Dresser, Circuit Conductor
“It has been so great working with the Conductors group this summer. The way they’ve helped challenge and support each other to make their ideas work has been brilliant, and together they’ve have come up with some first class events and workshops. I’m really excited to see what they do next with what they’ve learnt!” Imogen Phillips, Learning and Engagement Assistant, Kettle’s Yard
From learning new skills and networking to making friends and having fun, Circuit have had an incredible time on the Conductors programme. While we won’t be saying goodbye to them for good, we are looking for the next Circuit group for 2017-18. Don’t miss the opportunity to work with Kettle’s Yard and Wysing Arts Centre on a new year of activities including live music, film production, workshops, exhibitions and lots more.
