29 January 2015
On 22 June 2015 the Kettle’s Yard site at Castle Street will close completely. We are delighted to be beginning work on our major development project. Kettle’s Yard: Looking Ahead will create a new Education Wing, environmentally controlled galleries and better services for visitors including a café, to create a better Kettle’s Yard for all. The house at Kettle’s Yard will remain untouched, however we need to close the site completely for the safety of the collection. More information and detailed plans can be viewed here.
The project is supported by Arts Council England, Heritage Lottery Fund, University of Cambridge, Cambridge City Council, trusts, foundations and many individuals. We’re already half way to raising the last £500,000 of the £8.7m target. At this final stage, all donations large or small can really help, click here to find out more.
We are planning many projects for while we are closed, including a display at the Fitzwilliam Museum, the Open House project in North Cambridge and an exhibition at the Jerwood Gallery in Hastings. Sign up to our emails and keep looking at our website for regular updates.
