We are getting closer to move-in date on site. Snagging and other additional work is coming to a close. The cottages and House extension have been cleaned and repaired, ready to receive the collection. This month we have been choosing furniture for the offices and public spaces and have confirmed dates for the arrival of our new welcome desk and shop installation. The large, external signs will soon be joined by smaller wayfinding signs to lead visitors around and into the building.
There have been several visits to the site and following insights from visitors to the building our focus is now on internal signage and access. Our new landscape architect gave a presentation of her plans to the Friends of Kettle’s Yard and will start work this autumn. We look forward to working with the cafe team in the coming months and we can’t wait to share their delicious menus with you soon.
We have continued to make preparations for the installation of the collection back into the House. Conservation of artworks is still ongoing thanks to the support of the Friends. You can read about the pioneering conservation of some our Alfred Wallis works here.
We will be joined by many new faces in the coming months as several staff members join our team. We are also currently advertising for a Programme and Collection Assistant. Shortly we will be looking for a Receptionist and our Visitor Services Team. To find out more about the role and to apply, visit our jobs and employment page.
