There is lots to do this October Half Term at Kettle’s Yard.

Kicking things off on Sunday 21 October, we will have one of our popular free Studio Sunday events. Join us between 12 and 4pm and get creative in a workshop for all ages.

Our next exhibition, Richard Pousette-Dart: Beginnings, A Young Abstract Expressionist in New York, opens on Tuesday 23 October. Pick up one of our free family activity booklets from the information desk to explore the exhibition through different perspectives.

On Wednesday 24 October we have a Photography Collage Workshop for 8 -12 year olds, offering participants the chance to experiment with transparent materials and to get inspired by the work of Richard Pousette-Dart. Book a ticket for this workshop now.

We will be welcoming GCSE and A-level students on Wednesday 24 October for a Portfolio Development workshop. This event is free, but booking is recommended. Click here to reserve a place today.

The annual Cambridge Film Festival also returns this month. Get inspired by animals in the Kettle’s Yard collection at the Cambridge Arts Picturehouse in a free, drop in workshop and don’t miss the chance to see the film ‘Kedi’, a film that shows Istanbul through the eyes of its urban cats. Find out more here.

On Sunday 28 we will have a special Studio Sunday drop in event all about EXTREMES! Our ‘From the Miniature to the Gigantic‘ event explores themes of space, light and nature. Take on drawing challenges, from miniature mark making to gigantic gestures. Free, drop in anytime between 12 and 4pm.

Drop in anytime during half term and get an Arts Award activity booklet from the information desk. The fold out booklets on different themes explore various rooms in the House and ask you to think about curating your own gallery space. A contribution of £2.50 for each booklet helps us cover the certification costs of Arts Award.

We are looking forward to welcoming you this half term!
