Kettle’s Yard was recently invited by King’s Hedges Neighbourhood Partnership to join them for the annual Teddy Bear’s Picnic on Nun’s Way recreation ground. We introduced the children to Henri Gaudier-Brzeska’s Dog sculpture in Kettle’s Yard house which Jim Ede’s grandchildren sometimes took to bed as a sleeping companion. Artist Isabella Martin was struck by this story and supported the children at the picnic to create their own Sleeping Sculpture which might help to inspire their own fantastic dreams whilst they are asleep.
