Volunteering

Find out how you can support Kettle’s Yard through volunteering

Volunteering at Kettle’s Yard

Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community, learn new skills, make friends and professional contacts, and get more involved with a unique art gallery. Kettle’s Yard hugely values its team of volunteers, who have a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Everyone aged 16 and over is welcome to volunteer, and we encourage interest from new voices and perspectives.

Upcoming volunteering roles include supporting learning and community activities, supporting our front of house team with events and concerts, helping in the Kettle’s Yard garden and assisting with administration in our office.

Work Experience

Kettle’s Yard aims to provide meaningful and supportive work experience opportunities to students at our strategic school partners. These are currently:

  • North Cambridge Academy
  • Castle School

Students from these schools who are looking for work experience should contact learning@kettlesyard.cam.ac.uk.

We regret that Kettle’s Yard is unable to offer school or student work experience from other schools in 2023–2024. You may find further information about opportunities across the University of Cambridge Museums on their website.

Internships and Placements

Paid internships and employment are advertised on our jobs page. We are unable to accept speculative inquiries for internships or placements.

Please note that volunteering is not equivalent to an internship, studentship or work experience.

Further Information

Can’t find what you’re looking for here? If you do want to give more of your time or get involved in the wider cultural landscape of Cambridge we recommend that you reach out to the University of Cambridge Museums or The Museum of Cambridge to hear about their volunteering opportunities. Whatever your skill level or experience, there are opportunities for you to get involved with and support the museums.
