The basement will accommodate an exhibition workshop,
the loan collection, a cloakroom and toilets.
This will free space in the house, enabling the reserve collection
to be looked after in controlled environmental conditions, and made accessible.
It will also allow the art library in the house to expand into the adjoining room.
