the future
Jim Ede envisaged that Kettle's Yard would continue to grow gradually. Since his departure the temporary exhibition gallery has been extended three times. We are now planning a new extension which will complete the site.
This extension and other adaptations will provide:
- an education centre with separate spaces for creative workshops and seminars and lectures
- a new gallery for artists' projects and collection related displays
- an extended art library
- a café
- a properly appointed collection store
Phase 1, the remodelling of our offices to make them accessible and workable has now been completed.
architect
The extension is being designed by the London-based Canadian architect Jamie Fobert, whose 2003 Anderson
House near Oxford Circus won an RIBA award for best house in the UK, and the RIBA and English Heritage
Award for a Building in a Historical Context.
Since his Kettle's Yard commission he has been appointed architect for the forthcoming extension of
Tate St Ives.
extension appeal
The development is the subject of a £5million appeal.
