development plans |
 |
The second floor will provide clean education space for lectures, seminars and
film projections. |
 |
The first floor will be a café, encouraging visitors to stay longer, come
more often, and use Kettle's Yard as a meeting place. |
 |
The ground floor will be an education workshop, visible from the street, and
capable of accommodating a full class. The present education room will then revert to being
a gallery with a distinct programme of collection related displays, artists' projects and educational
displays, running alongside the main exhibitions. |
 |
The basement will accommodate an exhibition workshop, the loan collection, a
cloakroom and toilets. This will free space in the house, enabling the reserve collection to
be looked after in controlled environmental conditions, and made accessible. It will also allow
the art library in the house to expand into the adjoining room. |
