Ben Nicholson apples and pears

Join us for a day celebrating apples and Dapples!

‘There is an underwater orchard that currently lives somewhere along the River Cam. From time to time during Autumn its dapples escape and appear on the surface of the water.’

Artist Lucy Steggals has created a new display of artworks inspired by apples and dapples with the help of The Grove Primary School and residents of North Cambridge. The display will include work by Steggals created in collaboration with the community and two works by Ben Nicholson from the Kettle’s Yard Collection. Drop in and see what they have created.

Take part in free activities for all ages, including:

  • Blot painting
  • Write your own Dapple fairy story
  • Try the ‘Dapple Quiz’
  • Free tastings of Dapple Juice and Moon Grass Cheese

At 1.30pm listen to storytelling by Lucy Steggals with pupils from The Grove Primary School and Kettle’s Yard archivist Frieda Midgely

At 2pm & 3.30pm watch performances by cellist and recorder player Tara Franks and Rhia Parker

The Arboretum Café is open too 11am – 3pm
