This is a rare opportunity to see Agnes Martin’s 1976 film, Gabriel. It chronicles a boy’s relationship to nature and abstraction on a mountain odyssey.

This film has only been seen once before in the UK, in conjunction with an exhibition of Martin’s work at Inverleith House in Edinburgh in 1999.

Martin’s shimmering, abstract paintings reflect the artist’s meditative approach to art and life. The exhibition at Kettles’ Yard will bring together the largest group of Martin’s paintings to be seen in the UK for over 15 years.

This screening of Gabriel is courtesy of PaceWildenstein Gallery, New York.
Organised by Kettle's Yard and Lucy Cavendish College.
