The Camberwell Composer's Collective present ...
an eclectic season of concerts from some of the best musicians currently on the UK music scene. For this season, Kettle's Yard is "plugged-in" offering an electrifying and energetic mix of acoustic and electronic music.
Sunday Coffee Concerts are introduced by the Camberwell Composer's Collective. Coffee is served in the gallery from 11.30am.
All concerts are about an hour long.

Ensemble Klang
Ensemble Klang are one of the most adventurous ensembles on the Dutch contemporary music scene. 
They perform in flexible groupings ranging from quiet, fragile intimacy to the punchy power of a big-band. They will bring their enthusiasm and high energy to Kettle's Yard, performing, amongst other works, Music for People who Lose People by Andrew Hamilton.
Ensemble Klang are Heiko Geerts and Erik-Jan de With, saxophones, Joey Marijs, percussion, Anton Van Houten, trombone, Pete Harden, electric guitar, Saskia Lankhoorn, piano, and Tom Gelissen, sound engineer.

Elysian Quartet
These talented musicians are the only young British string quartet focusing on contemporary music. 
They present an electrifying programme of new works by British composers. The range of their musical interest has led to airplay on BBC Radio 1, 2 and 3. Here they perform a part-improvised work commissioned from jazz pianist and composer Keith Tippet - his String Quartet No 1. They also premiere a new quartet by the composer and sound designer Matthew Rogers.

The Meta-Piano: new works for piano and electronics
Sarah Nicolls
Pianist Sarah Nicolls has won consistent critical acclaim for her performances of contemporary music. 
In The Meta-Piano she performs three new works she has commissioned from Pierre-Alexandre Tremblay, Federico Reuben and New Music Associate Mark Bowden. They all find different ways to integrate electronics with piano, including using a musical top-hat.
Sarah Nicolls has performed concerti with the London Sinfonietta, the Philharmonia Orchestra and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. She was the winner of the British Contemporary Piano Competition in 2000.

Two Pianos on Two Floors

Oliver Coates, cellist
One of the foremost young cellists in the UK, Oliver Coates splits his time equally amongst his musical passions. 
From improvising with Massive Attack to performing concerti, to premiering many new works by composers including Thomas Ades and Kaija Saariaho, working regularly with numerous ensembles including as guest principal with the London Sinfonietta. He will perform new works for cello and electronics by Larry Goves, Elspeth Brooke and a new Kettle's Yard commission by the outstanding Irish composer David Fennessy.

Max de Wardener
Max de Wardener is a true original, a talented multi-instrumentalist and composer. 
His debut EP for Accidental Records Stops (2002) wove a solemn tapestry of gentle oratorio, tonal grandeur and shimmering, cut-up electronics. Pianist Will Dutta will perform de Wardener's new piano music alongside music written for Harry Partch-inspired instruments performed by the Max de Wardener band.

Ossian Ensemble
This sextet of award-winning soloists never fails to captivate its audience with its attention to detail, virtuosity and amazing group dynamic. 
They are the 2008-2009 Junior Fellows in Chamber Music at the Royal College of Music. This concert is the culmination of an exciting new project with the Camberwell Composers' Collective; a close collaboration between two groups of versatile musicians exploring theatrical and cross media performances.
