2013 Season
New Music Group, Cambridge University
Thursday 21 February, 8pm At Kettle's Yard
The Cambridge University New Music Ensemble is joined by flautist Sara Minelli and pianist Roderick Chadwick for the world premiere of Jeremy Thurlow's brand new piece for flute and piano, Plus avant que l'etoilé based on the atmospheric verses of contemporary French poet Yves Bonnefoy.
Minelli is one of the finest of the younger generation of Italian musicians, equally at home with classical repertoire or the fearsome complexity of Brian Ferneyhough and James Dillon. Works by Richard Causton, Alessandro Solbiati and brand new pieces by current composition students complete the programme.
