The gallery is fully accessible for wheelchair users and has accessible toilets. The reception area in the gallery is fitted with a loop system.
Regrettably, because of the size and age of the house, we can only offer limited access to wheelchair users. A temporary ramp can be installed to provide access to part of the ground floor, if you can, please call in advance to arrange this. If you are a wheelchair user and want to visit the house please go to the gallery reception and a member of staff will arrange for the level access entrance to be opened.
If there is something that you especially want to see that is not in the wheelchair accessible part of the house please get in touch and we will try and arrange to move it temporarily.
There is a spiral staircase in the house, if you find this hard to negotiate please tell a member of staff who will show you an alternative route.
Magnifying glasses and torches are available in the house to help if you have difficulty seeing the works. If you require our printed material in another format please ask a member of staff.
Prams and push-chairs can not be taken around the house as there are many vulnerable small objects on display. They can be left at the entrance to the house. They can be used throughout the gallery.
We are happy to arrange free tailor made tours for disabled people and their companions, please call us to arrange a visit or to find out about other workshops.
We can reserve seats for disabled people and their companions at all events and concerts.
