Kettle’s Yard is open on Bank Holiday Mondays.

House tickets

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Kettle’s Yard House, tickets are required, but free. The galleries, shop and café are free to visit with no tickets needed.

Free, timed entry to the House is every 10 minutes. The House is open 12 – 5pm, Tuesday – Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays. Tickets are available online up to one month in advance or in person on the day of your visit. Half of our House tickets are available to book in person at Kettle’s Yard. If the day of your planned visit is booked out online, you can still visit. We recommend arriving early to avoid long waiting times.

Please go to the information desk on arrival at Kettle’s Yard. There you can get your ticket or redeem your booking made online. You can ask our friendly Front of House team any questions before you enter and you can buy an illustrated House Guide which will tell you more about the artworks in each room. Please note there are no labels by artworks in the House.

Advance booking is available for every other entry time to the House starting from 12.10pm.

We have been delighted by the high numbers of visitors who have come to Kettle’s Yard since we reopened on 10 February. Our busiest periods are weekends, if you want to avoid queues, Tuesday – Friday are our quieter days.

Our House ticket systems are still new, so thank you for your patience and do please continue to give us feedback.

Important information for your visit

Due to conservation and security reasons, no bags, including handbags, or large coats are allowed in the House.

Please note that the House is not fully wheelchair accessible. For access information please visit our access page online or call 01223 748100.

Please note that there are no toilets in the House.

No food or drink are allowed in the House.

Visitors are invited to sit at the library table in the House at Kettle’s Yard and browse the books, however this is not a lending library.

We welcome artists but only pencils and pads/books size A3 or smaller can enter the House. No wet materials (including pens) or chalks are allowed.

Children who will be carried do not need a ticket. Please note that the House is not suitable for buggies.
