In 2018, Kettle’s Yard received a transformative legacy gift from the late artist Alan Reynolds and his wife Vona. They had a close relationship with Kettle’s Yard and the former Director, the late Michael Harrison, which included a solo show of Alan’s work in the galleries in 2003. Michael also wrote a monograph of Alan’s work in 2011, just three years before his death.
In recognition of Alan and Vona’s extraordinary generosity we have created the ‘New Art’ fund. This fund has supported curatorial development, the commissioning of new artworks as part of our exhibition programme and enabled us to present work by some of the very best contemporary artists as part of our re-opening programme. The fund has helped us to celebrate and support the ‘art of our time’, which Jim Ede so tirelessly championed throughout his life.
“This gift has had a transformative impact on our programme – allowing us to realise Jim Ede’s vision, supporting artists to create works and contributing to the ongoing success of Kettle’s Yard through curatorial development and research.” Andrew Nairne, Director
It is our hope that this gift will be added to over time, giving Kettle’s Yard the means to continue to support artists, commissioning and presenting their work as part of our annual programme.
A legacy or bequest is one of the most significant and personal gifts you can make. Through a gift in your will, you can make a direct and lasting contribution to Kettle’s Yard.
