One of the highlights of the exhibition ‘Actions. The image of the world can be different‘ was Rana Begum’s installation in St. Peter’s Church, ‘No. 764 Baskets’. Almost 1,000 baskets, all handmade in Bangladesh were installed inside the church from 10 February to 29 April 2018. For more information, please see the Actions book.

The baskets, made of bamboo, were especially commissioned by the artist, with the support of Kettle’s Yard, from traditional basket makers North – West of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The makers were paid for their work in line with local market rates.

We are currently selling the baskets in the Kettle’s Yard shop for £3.00 each. Proceeds from the sales of baskets will support Kettle’s Yard’s Programme Fund, enabling us to commission more artists to make new work. These baskets are only available in person, or over the phone and are not for sale online.
