In September 2019, members of the Director’s Circle and Exhibition Supporters Circle were privileged to visit Oscar Murillo’s studio in North London, following his show at Kettle’s Yard, Violent Amnesia, earlier in the year.
Oscar showed the group several new works and works in progress and offered a fascinating insight into his unique practice, particularly related to his project Frequencies, Oscar’s project with schoolchildren around the world that was part of his exhibition at Kettle’s Yard.
We were delighted that Oscar went on to win the Turner Prize in December 2019, together with Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Helen Cammock, and Tai Shani; the first time in the prize’s history that it has been awarded to a collective.
The tour was one of a programme of special events organised for the Director’s Circle patrons of Kettle’s Yard. Please click here for more information about the different patrons groups at Kettle’s Yard. If you would like to become a patron, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
