“I love doing voluntary work for Kettle’s Yard which adds so much to my life, I feel it’s a small way in which I can pay something back. My experience as a volunteer shows it’s possible to do specific tasks, perhaps using experience or skills gained elsewhere in life, or more general tasks: all of which lead to a greater engagement with Kettle’s Yard – and are a lot of fun too!”
Due to the impact of Covid 19 we have had to temporarily reduce our volunteering programme in order to protect our paid and volunteer staff, as well as our visitors. For this reason we are not currently recruiting for new volunteers.
Since re-opening in 2018, we have had a lot of interest from people who would like to volunteer at Kettle’s Yard. Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community, learn new skills, make friends and professional contacts, and engage more deeply with a unique museum you already know and love. Kettle’s Yard has a diverse and talented pool of over 150 volunteers with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. We encourage interest from new voices and perspectives.
We accept volunteers aged 16 and over. Volunteers under 18 may be limited as to what volunteer opportunities are available to them. Volunteering is not equivalent to an internship, studentship or work experience. Paid internships and employment are advertised on our Jobs page. Can’t find what you’re looking for here? If you do want to give more of your time or get involved in the wider cultural landscape of Cambridge we recommend that you reach out to the University of Cambridge Museums or The Museum of Cambridge to hear about their opportunities.
Whatever your skill level or experience, there are opportunities for you to get involved with and support the museums.
If you want to get involved, but can’t make this event, drop us an email at email@example.com. Due to the high volume of emails received, it may take a while to for us to reply.
