About the workshop

In this workshop you will be taking inspiration from the colours, textures and lines of Alfred Wallis’ paintings to create your own artwork. The day will include a private tour of the permanent collection of Alfred Wallis works in the House, a talk by Eliza Spindel, a curator, about the Wallis exhibition and a visit to the exhibition with drawing to inform your collage. After a lunch break you will move to the Clore studio where Lora will conduct a practical workshop using mixed materials with a focus on collage – you will use a combination of cutting and layering paper with drawing to create your own pieces to take home.

Please note that if paint gets on to clothes it may not wash off, so please make sure to dress accordingly.

About the tutor

Lora Avedian graduated from the Mixed Media Textiles course in 2017, and works in a variety of mediums, primarily textile and paper. Lora uses traditional embroidery and embellishment techniques to make modern artefacts and favours slow processes, focusing on short run and bespoke projects.
