Find out What’s On at Kettle’s Yard here.

5 December 2020, 2 – 5pm

Taking inspiration from Kettle’s Yard collection artists Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth you will use easily available art materials to learn block and relief printing techniques. Ben Nicholson’s abstract prints will be the starting point to compose and draw out your own designs and print beautiful patterned papers. We will look at traditional lino block printing before exploring household objects. You will also mono-print simply using a sheet of plastic (plastic wallet) and water-based pen or ink.

The workshop is focused on methods for printmaking at home, without a press, and will cover a range of techniques and experimental material options.

All these techniques can be used to make your own Christmas cards, tags and wrapping paper.

The workshop will be conducted via Zoom so please make sure you have an account and can join for the time required – you will be sent a link to join in advance.

£50 per person, booking required.
