Californian architecture comes to Cambridge, with film shorts shown in a West Cambridge garden against a modernist backdrop.
The documentary film that will be shown at this outdoor garden screening is about the defining photographs of mid-century modernist houses in Southern California by Julius Shulman (1910–2009), and his friendship with architects and home owners.
The film shorts will be introduced by Will Paice, who was Executive Producer of the film and author of the accompanying book, and met Julius. He will guide us through the history of Californian modernism.
‘What good is a dream house if you haven’t got a dream?’ – Julius Shulman
