Selected works from our popular New Rhythms exhibition will be on display.
Harewood is the only venue to receive this major new exhibition from Kettle’s Yard featuring work by renowned French-born sculptor and draughtsman, Henri Gaudier-Brzeska. It is the first time Brzeska’s engagement with dance and movement has been explored. New Rhythms brings together sculpture, drawing, photography, film, and archive material in a display which marks the centenary of his untimely death in WW1.

The exhibition also includes a new commission which takes inspiration from Gaudier-Brzeska’s Wrestlers relief. This collaboration between composer Kate Whitley, choreographer Malgorzata Dzierzon and filmmaker David McCormick, features music for a violinist and a violist and a duo of dancers. On view in the exhibition, it asks us to consider how Gaudier-Brzeska’s works can inspire NEW RHYTHMS today. You can watch excerpts from the film below.
